Biographical Info
Kia ora! My name is Amy Mills and I’m an integrative counsellor working with teenagers and adults who are navigating significant life changes. Through regular therapy sessions, I help people to understand and process their difficulties past and present, accept themselves, work out what matters now and find ways of living that work for them.
I believe therapy works best when you have the time and space to explore what’s happening for you without being judged or rushed. I don’t assume there is one right way to live or that you need to fit yourself into someone else’s idea of who you should be. Instead I meet you as you are, listen carefully and help you to make sense of your experiences and find ways of living that feel authentic and meaningful to you.
I particularly welcome people who identify as being LGBTQI+ or Rainbow, and those who are questioning their sexuality or gender identity. I also welcome people who identify as neurodivergent, including those with ADHD, autism (ASD) and other differences in how they think and experience the world.
I offer support that is affirmative and appreciative of each person’s experience of being and relating. I don’t expect people to hide who they are, or adapt themselves to fit what someone else thinks is a normal way of doing things.
There is lots of information about how I work on my website so please check this out and get in touch through the contact form on there. I will be honoured to hear from you.
