Mā tōu rourou, mā taku rourou ka ora te iwi.

Thank you for your visit – it is so good to see you.

We consider wellbeing holistically: the whole person, and their whole situation. This can include our overall health, what has happened to us in the past, what we’re living through now, and our life circumstances, among other things – the model we use for this is Te Whare Tapa Whā, which further accounts for social, mental, physical and spiritual aspects of wellbeing. Our approach is distinctly non-medicalising and non-pathologising: this means that we do not consider mental health struggles to be abnormal, nor do they necessarily require medical treatment. Everyone faces difficulties in life: we are here to help you through whatever those might look like for you. We build and enable connections with other helping services, because we believe that the whole community should be involved in uplifting its members.

Are you concerned for someone? Or would some support with your own wellbeing be helpful?
Ka pai – you’ve come to the right place.

Regardless of your situation, suicide prevention means supporting everyone in our community long before they reach the point of crisis – we refuse to join the ambulances who wait instead at the bottom of the cliff. Whatever you’re facing, if it’s causing you distress, you don’t have to face it alone: we would love to hear from you.
