Biographical Info

Whānau Āwhina Plunket is a charity and Aotearoa New Zealand’s leading provider of Well Child and family health services. We are contracted to deliver the Well Child Tamariki Ora (WCTO) programme – a series of health assessments and support services for pēpi, tamariki and their whānau from birth to five years. Our Plunket nurses work alongside whānau to complete health and developmental assessments with each child to help ensure they’re growing and developing as expected.  As well our Kaiāwhina and community Karitāne are trained health workers who are part of the team working alongside nurses supporting whānau at home and in their communities. Our appointments can take place in the family home, Plunket facility or community location like a marae or church.  The Well Child Tamariki Ora programme also serves as an important gateway to targeted and specialist health, education and social services for families with additional needs. Plunket services are all free, there is a 24/7 parenting helpline, Plunketline, which is available to all whānau including if you are not registered with us for Well Child, and a range of local community services. We offer support services to help you connect with other whānau in your community and empower you in your role as parent or caregiver.  Please check out our website for a full list of services http://www.plunket.org.nz – you do not need data on your phone to access our website.
