Could YOU become a Friend of our Food Truck – Waimanaaki?
Waimanaaki has been created to provide free meals, coffee, and a check-in service to people in need.
Our Food Truck has been running since November 2025, 5 days a week with a beautiful team – including our fantastic volunteers who support whānau accessing the service, and even bring delicious home-baked muffins.
This is an inter-linked service that aims to support people – providing kai and checkin with mana – and no strings. People can come daily to connect with us or others, receive free kai and coffee, and reach out for support with absolutely no judgement or shame.
The tables and chairs are carefully set up, and people – just like you and me – arrive for a kai prepped with aroha – a smile, a song, and an awareness that there is a wonderful manaakitanga – made possible through collaboration with many other agencies and supports. Sometimes there will be as many as 60+ people arriving and tucking into a fresh, nutritious, hot kai. Kai security has so, so many positive knock-on effects – de-escalation; hope; reduction in crime; most of all – knowing the community sees and cares.

What are the ‘Friends’ of Waimanaaki?
We would LOVE your business (or you as an individual) to become a Friend of Waimanaaki – with a one-off or annual donation (tax reclaimable) to support the Truck in turn to support our community.
As an expression of our collaborative working, we’ll put your business logo on the Food Truck (or, for an individual – a brief message of support) so that when Waimanaaki drives around Taranaki, and stops at our wonderful locations, people can see quite how many are generously enabling this mahi to continue! Business Friends will also be featured on our Wall of Fame at Waimanako, and on our website and our social media. We would SO love to be friends with you in this venture.
