Become a frequent supporter of our Food Truck – Waimanaaki!

Waimanaaki has been created to provide free meals, coffee, and a check-in service to people in need.

Our Food Truck has been running since November 2025, 5 days a week with a mix of Taranaki Retreat staff and volunteers.

We are based at St Mary’s Church four days per week, and at Marfell Community School one day per week. We are hoping to branch out to Waitara in the near future.

This is a service that aims to support people with no strings attached. People can come daily to connect with us or others, receive free kai and coffee, and reach out for support with absolutely no judgement or criteria.

We support a core group of regulars, and see new people every day!

We can see what a difference we are making by being approachable, kind, and welcoming. We are creating a friendly, welcoming space for everyone and allowing for connections to be made with a variety of people in a safe space over a meal.

“This is just like a cafe, this is Heaven!”

How can I support Waimanaaki?

Your business can make a one-off or annual donation to support the Truck in an ongoing way – ensuring that those in need are supported for years to come.

As a small token of our thanks, we’ll put your business logo on the Food Truck (along with a set number of characters)! So when Waimanaaki drives around Taranaki, and stops at our wonderful locations, people can see who is generously enabling this mahi to continue! Your business will also be featured on our Wall of Fame at Waimanako, and on our website and our social media.
